Winners, 2025 Awards
Over two thousand photographs were considered by our panel of judges who were asked to decide their best photographers in this very talented field of photojournalists. Here are the results in order of winner ,highly commended and commended;
UKPEG Photographer of the year
This years Press Photographer of the Year is Samir Hussein.
Winner in two categories this year, The Dave Benett Agency Arts and Entertainment Photographer of the Year and PA Media Royal Photographer of the Year.
Samir first made an appearance in the UK Picture Editors Guild Awards in 2015 when he won the Dave Benett Agency Arts and Entertainment Photographer of the Year. A repeat of his victory in 2017 followed by more success in the same category in 2018.
The work he produces is of the highest quality and his talents are recognised world-wide. It is testimony to the multiple awards that he has collected in the recent years.
Former Financial Times Picture Editor and one of this year’s panel Helen Healey said that the pictures were ‘’beautifully composed’’
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as they say, obviously, his family genetics are a great help as he follows in the footsteps of his award winning father Anwar Hussein.
